Our Story
Hi, I’m Jay, founder of Fantasy In Black.
I created Fantasy In Black for two personal reasons.
My daughter has a vivid and beautiful imagination. I want her to find herself inside the stories she creates and the fantasy worlds she explores.
I also love fantasy media and art, from magic and mermaids to superheroines, elves, horror, and other imaginative worlds.
Yet Black women rarely hold the center of fantasy lore.
Fantasy In Black grew from my desire to help change that through art.
My goal remains simple: create fantasy-inspired worlds where Black women and people across the diaspora have meaningful space to shine, lead, create, explore, and hold the magic.
